Horticultural Development Officer

Managing the operations of Tree Maintenance, London in Bloom, Greening Hackney, Asset Protection and any other internally or externally funded projects which require direction, you will need to ensure that service delivery is efficient, reliable and meets client and customer needs.
You will require a sound understanding of arboriculture, environmental issues, ecology relating to local authorities, staff management, budget management, and obtaining value for money, detailed knowledge of contract and tender documentation, particularly in arboriculture and tree planting, planning and organisational skills, implementation and development of local biodiversity action plan and experience of managing community based projects and contractors.

Working individually and as part of a team, you'll be responsible for keeping the internal and external areas of our estates clean and tidy at all times. A clean driving licence will be required, and an internal driving assessment test will be required for the successful applicant. We'll be looking for a customer-focussed approach as well as the ability to build good relationships with all our residents.

Managing staff and resources, and working closely with the Area Manager, you'll plan and oversee the efficient day-to-dayoperation of estate cleaning and other related services. We'll be looking for a proven track record of delivering customer-focussed services in a multi-cultural environment.

GM16 - £19,731 p.a. inc.
You'll carry out a variety of work that ensures the external areas of our estates are maintained to a high standard. This involves everything from pruning, planting and hoeing to mowing, edging, and weeding, as well as collecting and disposing of litter. You'll need to have the necessary certificates (including a full current driving licence) to drive estate environment vehicles with trailers.
