Hackney Homes works with a number of agencies to offer opportunities for training and employment to the local community. Here are some of the latest opportunities open to Hackney residents…

Ways into Work
Ways into Work, which is part of the Genesis Community’s Employability, Enterprise and Training Programme, offers advice to Hackney residents who need help to get a job and a range of practical support.

Residents can visit St Paul’s Church Hall (Stoke Newington Road, London, N26 7UE) every Friday from 10-12pm to benefit from:

A dedicated personal advisor,
Specialist support for parents,
Training based on your own needs and goals,
Help with CV writing and job application forms,
Practice for interviews,
Work trials to find out what you really like in a job,
Access to our job brokerage services,
Advice on children care provisions, in-work benefit entitlements, benefits, debts and more…

Genesis Community Job Fair – 24^th April 2009
Need help finding work? Spring into action and come along to the Genesis Community Job Fair on Friday 24^th April 2009, from 10.30am – 3.30pm at St Paul’s Church Hall, Stoke Newington Road, London, N26 7UE.

The job fair is free to Hackney residents and will include job vacancies, workshops on CV writing, advice on preparing for work, a technology section where you can design your CV and try out the Wii, get banking and benefits advice

There will also be a chill out zone with refreshments and freebies for all.
