    Hackney Homes is one of London’s biggest ALMOs. Founded in 2006, we manage around 22,000 tenanted properties and 8,000 leasehold properties in the borough. We employ 800 staff in maintenance and support services.

    Being a landlord is only part of our role. As well as managing quality housing for the people of Hackney, we also invest considerable resources in neighbourhoods and communities where people want to live.

    Our Services

    Repairs Staff

    Our core function is to deliver housing management services and ongoing maintenance to our residents.
    We work with neighbourhood housing contractors to provide housing services functions and support services directly to our residents on a day to day basis.
    Our dedicated team of repairs and maintenance operatives are on estates everyday making sure that they are clean, safe and welcoming. They work on a planned basis and respond to requests for residents for maintenance works.
    We also use our skills and expertise to help improve the communities that we work in. Working closely with youth groups, senior citizens associations and minority community groups, we signpost residents to health, education and training services to improve their quality of life.

    Our Partnerships

    Woodberry Down

    We work in partnership with Hackney Council who fully own and manage us. This close partnership working has brought a number of successful initiatives, one of which is Woodberry Down, the largest regeneration project in Europe.

    Our Performance

    Oour Performance

    Performance really matters to us. That is why we try hard to continually improve our services to our residents and monitor how well we are doing through a process of continual assessments and reviews. Since 2006, we have improved our performance across all core areas of the business including:
    • Increasing residents’ satisfaction. In the last annual survey, over half of residents were satisfied with the services that we provide to them and the way we keep them informed.
    • Getting better with collecting rent. We are currently collecting over 96% of rent from our tenants which is a significant improvement over the last few years.
    • Reletting homes quicker. We are currently turning around and re-letting empty properties to residents within 21 days, making us one of the best authorities in London.
    • Identifying and delivering value for money savings. We had made around £4million in savings and have identified at least £10million over the next three years.
