North East Leasehold Association

The North East Leasehold Association (NELA) was launched on 22 November 2005 having decided to disband an independent Association which had been in existence since 1986. Hackney Homes had demonstrated in those years that they had improved since Right to Buy came into being and litigation, although successful, was no longer a requirement.  Communication and working with Hackney Homes to action issues of concern to leaseholders were the way forward and the Association has gone from strength to strength using that method of working.

The Association is open to all leaseholders/freeholders within Stamford Hill and Clapton area and no charge is made for membership.  The Chair and Deputy Chair work closely with the Leasehold Liaison Officer from Pinnacle who provides administrative support to the Committee.

General meetings are attended by officers from Pinnacle, Hackney Homes, as well as local Councillors. The meetings are held quarterly and general issues which affect all leaseholders are discussed.  If you have an individual issue you will be able to raise it direct with the relevant Officer at the conclusion of the meeting. Alternatively contact the Leasehold Liaison Officer who will bring your issue to the attention of the Committee if the issue is unable to be resolved by Pinnacle.

Diane Abbott MP has confirmed that she will be attending the upcoming NELA General Meeting to be held at Joseph Court Community Hall, 7pm on 24th February 2010. Diane will be taking a Question and Answer session open to all in attendance. Further details of the meeting will follow shortly’
