Join a Hackney Homes Resident Forum

Hackney Homes is committed to involving as many residents as possible in key decision-making. To do this, we have set up Resident Forums for particular groups in our community.
We consult with members of these forums as and when we need their assistance with ideas and suggestions on their environment and the services that we provide.
If you would like to become a member of any of the forums listed above or if you have a suggestion for an additional resident forum, please get in touch with the Resident Partcipation Team on 020 8356 7845 or email getinvolved@hackneyhomes.org.uk
Members of the forum will be given a voucher for attending and travel expenses will be reimbursed.

African Caribbean Consultation Forum

The African Caribbean Consultation Forum's (ACCF) main responsibility is to consult, discuss and make recommendations to improve housing for all residents.
Forum members bring their own personal and cultural experiences and through discussion are able to make constructive suggestions. Resident Participation Officer, Emmanuel Malm has been working with the African Forum and has been successful in establishing the group as an important consultative body at Hackney Homes.
The ACCF meets every quarter and discuss significant housing matters such as Decent Homes, Planned Maintenance and Repairs. Members of the forum are representative of countries such as South Africa, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Democratic republic of Congo, Nigeria and Congo Brazzaville. In addition to the diversity of the make up of the forum, English, French, Creole, Zulu, Yoruba, Lingala and Kiwoyo (Bantu) are just some of the languages spoken!
If you are interested in joining the Forum or want further information, please contact Emmanuel Malm on 020 8356 6694 or email Emmanuel Malm

Asian Womens Forum

Every few months, a group of Asian women who live in Hackney meet to dscuss their views on various housing issues. The meeting takes place at the Asian Women's Advisory Service in Mare Street and the discussions cover everything from Decent Homes, Major Works and the repairs service.
If you are an Asian woman living in a Hackney Homes property, why not register to attend the Asian Womens' Focus Group by contacting Coralie Francis via the Resident Participation Team on 020 8356 7845.

Turkish Focus Group

The Turkish focus group is a great way to talk to Hackney Homes residents from within the Turkish community and openly discuss areas of concern that they may have. The past few meetings have seen discussions focus on repairs and maintenance, resident involvement, Decent Homes and planned maintenance. You can register to join the Turkish Forum by calling Emmanuel Malm on the Resident Participation Team on 020 8356 7845

Disabilities Forum

This group is made up of tenants and leaseholders with disabilities from across various estates and neighbourhoods in Hackney. The main purpose of the Forum is to provide advice on policies and service improvements that
may affect residents with disabilities and to raise concerns that may adversely affect the lives of residents with disabilities.
