Masterplan

The Masterplan is the next phase following the Urban Design Framework and is the basis in gaining outline planning permission. Once outline planning permission is granted this then enables a start on the Kick Start area.
A Masterplan is a plan of plans. It is a plan that shows where the buildings, roads and parks will go. But it is also much more: It looks at the environmental aspects of the scheme such as rainwater disposal, sunlight and daylight, ecology, traffic, noise, pollution and energy use. It will also assess the education, health, shops and leisure provision to make sure that the new housing will be well supported
In short the Masterplan has to show that the redeveloped Woodberry Down will be of high quality housing that fits comfortably with the surrounding area, and provides its residents with all that is needed to provide decent living conditions
During late August and mid September 2005, residents on Woodberry Down had the opportunity to contribute to discussions on the Masteplan through interactive Workshops. Comments and views from these workshops have been used to feed into the Masterplan.
