New neighbourhood housing office launched on Woodberry Down Estate

Hackney Homes launched a new Neighbourhood Housing Office on Woodberry Down Estate this week. Under the management of housing management partner Pinnacle, the office will be shared with the Woodberry Down Regeneration Team and will be open 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Staff at the new office will be able to assist residents with matters including:

Estate management including cleaning and repairs;

Information about events, resident meetings and estate walkabouts;

Tenancy and leasehold management queries.

In addition, an anti social behaviour (ASB) surgery will be held every Friday from 2 to 5 pm where residents will be able to speak to specialist ASB officers in confidence about any particular concerns they may have.

Mary Omaru a resident of Woodberry Down said: "It's really good to have an office right here on Woodberry Down."

Pinnacle, the housing contract manager for Woodberry Down will continue to deliver housing management services to residents in the North East from the main Office in Stamford Hill.

Rupert Tyson, Chair of Hackney Homes Board said: "We are committed to supporting our residents living in Woodberry Down and we hope that closer access to our housing office services will be an added benefit."

Estate safety roadshows rolling out across Hackney

Hackney Homes wants your help to keep our estates safe and that is why we are bringing our first safety roadshows to thirty estates this summer.
You can report issues that you are concerned about in your area to staff on the day who will tell you how these will be dealt with. It could be noisy neighbours, concerns about dogs or concerns about aggressive neighbours.
All reports will be anonymous and Hackney Homes' staff will keep you updated throughout the period which the issue is investigated.
Residents will also be able to meet police officers from their local Safer Neighbourhoods Team. Staff from the UK's largest dog welfare charity Dogs Trust will be there to support local residents, providing FREE microchipping for residents' dogs,  specialist advice on responsible dog ownership, dog training tips and low cost vaccination, neutering, flea and worm treatement.
A microchip is a small electronic device, the size of a grain of rice, which is implanted under the skin between a dog's shoulder blades. The microchip is coded with a unique number that is stored on a database and which can be read by a scanner. If a dog is ever lost or stolen, it will be scanned and returned to its owner.
Please note that this free chipping offer is open to all Hackney Homes tenants and leaseholders. A £5 offer is available for all other Hackney residents. All offers are subject to availability on each participating roadshow estate. Proof of address will be required.
