The grounds maintenance team are organised into area teams. Each team is responsible for maintaining and planting flowers, shrubs and other plant life on Hackney Homes managed estates.
Grounds maintenance operatives carry out the following tasks on a daily basis, dependant on the season:
. grass cutting
. shrub pruning
. planting of flowers and shrub beds
. general maintenance of gardens in communal areas
. Tree maintenance

Office Opening Hours
Estate Environment offices opening times: 8:00am - 17:00pm Monday - Friday
Grounds Maintenance working hours
Grounds Maintenance operatives work from 7:30am - 3:15 pm Monday - Thursday.
Grounds Maintenance operatives work from 7:30am - 3:00 pm Friday.
Grounds Maintenance are responsible for pruning trees on communal land managed by Hackney Homes. Tree pruning works are carried out approximately every 3 years.
Trees located in private front or back gardens are the responsibility of the tenant to maintain.

Grounds Maintenance supervisors are on estates every week monitoring the standards of work being carried out by grounds maintenance operatives.
Please feel free to contact the Area Manager who will be happy to meet with you at a mutually convenient time on your estate, should you have any questions or concerns about grounds maintenance works.
In addition to the checks carried out by Area Supervisors, Estate Inspectors carry out inspections on the standards achieved by the grounds maintenance operatives.
The inspections team will inspect estates on a monthly basis, produce reports and record the information.
Managers and supervisors are notified of all tasks that have received a fail grade and these areas are rectified.
Estate Environment Services aim to provide high quality and responsive estate cleaning and grounds maintenance services.
