How do I register with a housing association?
When you register with Hackney Council for a house or flat you will be automatically considered for a nomination to a housing association. You can choose to exclude housing associations as a housing option, but you might narrow your options and increase your waiting time for a house.
Housing associations are independent not-for-profit bodies that provide low cost housing for people in housing need. Any trading surplus is used to maintain existing homes and to help finance new ones. They are now the United Kingdom's major providers of new homes for rent.
