Borough Wide Leaseholder and Freeholder Forum

Forum launch

Hackney's borough-wide Leaseholder and Freeholder Forum was launched on 1 July 2006. The Forum was formed to formally represent the views, concerns and interests of leaseholders and freeholders throughout the borough who pay service charges to the Council.

Aims of the Forum

  • To listen to and represent the concerns of the borough's leaseholders and freeholders
  • To assist leaseholders and freeholders who pay service charges on individual disputes
  • To educate leaseholders and freeholders who pay service charges about their rights
  • To communicate all progress made by the Forum on leasehold and freehold issues
  • To work alongside Hackney Homes and Hackney Council to come to fair resolutions on issues affecting all leaseholders and freeholders who pay service charges
  • To monitor Hackney Homes' service standards and facilitate improvements
Forum Committee members meet regularly with Hackney Homes.

Events

When we hold open meetings we will post the times and locations here. Alternatively, you can find details on the Forum's website. The Management Committee of the Forum meet at least once per month on a Tuesday evening at 7pm. Again, details will be posted here and on the Forum's website. Please note that committee meetings are not intended to be attended by members of the public. However, if you are a Hackney Leaseholder or Freeholder and you wish to come along and see your Committee in action, please do so. If you want to participate, we can co-opt you on to the Committee.

Buses to the venue:
Kingsland Road: 67, 149, 242, 243, 394 - Pearson Street bus stop
New North Road: 21, 76, 141, 271, 394 - Hoxton bus stop
