Resident involvement structure

After lengthy consultation with residents, Hackney Homes has changed the way residents can get involved.
We’ve been doing this to encourage more residents to get involved, to offer more and varied ways to get involved and to reduce the number of meetings residents need to attend.
Below you will find Hackney Homes' formal resident involvement structure.

Hackney Homes Board

The Hackney Homes Board brings together a wealth of experience, community knowledge and commitment and they are playing an important role in transforming Hackney’s housing.
Three different groups of people make up the board: six elected resident representatives, five appointed independent board members and five Councillors nominated by Hackney Council.

Resident Liaison Group

The Resident Liaison Group is made up of residents from Neighbourhood Panels, Leaseholder Forum, other resident groups, the Cabinet member for Housing, Hackney Homes Board members and senior Hackney Homes staff. This group monitors and comments on performance and policy issues of Hackney Homes.

Neighbourhood Panels

Neighbourhood Panels are made up of Tenants' and Residents’ Association (TRA) representatives from each Neighbourhood who meet regularly to discuss service performance and neighbourhood issues.

Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations

Tenants’ and Residents’ Associations (TRAs) are set up and run by residents living in Hackney Homes properties. They work to improve the social, physical and environmental conditions in their area. TRA Committee members are elected by residents in the local area.
TRA’s hold four meetings a year which their Estate Manager and local councillor. These are open meetings which all residents can attend. TRAs also have access to local budgets to spend on estate improvements. Hackney Homes has also started a new system to record and track any issues raised at TRA meetings. If you have a concern, it will be dealt with.
